Who doesn’t love hot cocoa around the holidays? I would love to hear where your favorite local spot is to grab a warm drink! Here is what I love to make at home! Cheers!
INGREDIENTS
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup boiling water
- 3 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a medium saucespan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar and cinnamon.
- Place the saucepan over low heat and whisk in the boiling water. Whisk constantly and bring the mixture to a gentle boil for 2 minutes.
- Whisk in the milk, vanilla, and heavy cream. Heat the mixture until very warm, taking care not to let the mixture boil.
- Carefully pour the hot chocolate into mugs. If desired, top with marshmallows and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
